Sent on behalf of Dr. Patricia Klein, Executive Associate Dean…
Colleagues,
We wish a bittersweet farewell to Dr. Danielle Harris and Ms. Kelly Essler, who are both leaving the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. We are grateful for the many strides each made to improve the success of our students. Their last day of service with our College is Nov. 30.
To minimize disruption to their areas of service at the College, we are working quickly to evaluate roles and responsibilities that align with our greater strategic approaches to student success, advising and student recruitment.
Dr. Harris, who has most recently served as assistant dean for student success within the College, will be leaving the University. Dr. Harris has worked with our College for 18 years, two as a graduate assistant and 16 in full time positions, starting as a program coordinator, then various roles focused on student success and retention. Her previous responsibilities with student recruitment have already shifted to Dr. Chris Skaggs, who has taken on a bigger role in leading student recruitment with his role as Associate Dean of Student Development. The College is currently engaged in determining the ideal role to support student success and working to fill the position.
Ms. Kelly Essler has recently been serving as the director of academic advising for the College and is now joining the Office of the Texas A&M University President, starting Dec. 1. Ms. Essler has dedicated the past 10 years to serving the advising needs of our students.
We wish both Dr. Harris and Ms. Essler the best, and we appreciate your support as we continue our strategic focus on the recruitment and success of our students.
Please stay tuned for more information,
Thank you,
Patricia Klein
