Colleagues,
As you likely know, Texas A&M AgriLife has a rich history of environmental stewardship across the College and agencies. We are proud to support many longstanding, successful programs across ecology, forestry, biosecurity and rangeland science, among other disciplines. Our programs are conducting cutting-edge research to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, design biodegradable plastics, improve climate-smart technologies and practices, and create other technological improvements to land and water practices – just to name a few accomplishments.
The entire AgriLife organization is committed to sustainable practices that protect our assets, respect the well-being of our community, and provide accountability for the natural resources entrusted to us.
Likewise, Texas A&M AgriLife remains committed to Texas A&M University System Regulation 24.01.03, “Environment,” to consider environmental issues “in planning, acquisitions, designs, construction, operations, maintenance and activities” and how we conduct ourselves daily across the organization. As vice chancellor and dean, I endorse this policy.
As an employee of Texas A&M AgriLife, please take a minute to review Regulation 24.01.03 if you haven’t already. Additional information can be found on the Environmental Management section of the A&M System’s website.
Thank you!
Jeffrey W. Savell
Vice Chancellor and Dean, Agriculture and Life Sciences
