Colleagues,
I am excited that Phillip Kaufman, Ph.D., will be the interim department head for the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications, succeeding Mathew Baker, Ph.D., who will retire on September 30.
Please join me in expressing our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Baker for his dedicated leadership of the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications over the past five years. We value his contributions to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and wish him the best in his retirement.
Dr. Kaufman currently heads the Department of Entomology and is a highly respected leader amongst his peers and students.
In the coming months, he will collaborate with faculty, staff and students to ensure continued progress across the department. We appreciate your support during this transition.
We’ve begun the search for a permanent department head and will keep everyone updated on our progress.
Thanks, and Gig ’em,
Jeffrey W. Savell
Vice Chancellor and Dean, Agriculture and Life Sciences
