Colleagues,
I’m writing to share that Tom Boggus, state forester and director of the Texas A&M Forest Service, has announced his retirement, effective June 1. We are appreciative of Mr. Boggus’ many years of dedicated service to the agency and the forestry profession and wish him well in his retirement.
I am also pleased to report that Al Davis, deputy agency director of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service and Regents Service Fellow, will serve as acting director for the Texas A&M Forest Service. Mr. Davis has been employed with TEEX since 2005, having served as director of the National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center.
In 2014, he was appointed to deputy agency director. He is the immediate past chairman of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, co-founder and principal emeritus of the National Cyber Security Preparedness Consortium and a former advisory board member of the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security.
Please join me again in thanking Mr. Boggus for his many years of service to the agency and in welcoming Mr. Davis into the role of acting director.
