Colleagues,
I am honored to welcome Dr. Matt Baker as head of the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, effective Aug. 1.
Dr. Baker was a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications at Texas Tech University for eight years and also served as founding dean for University College at Texas Tech and departmental chair for agricultural education and communications. His current research focuses on antecedents to human behavior. Specifically, he has measured biometric- skin conductance, facial expressions, eye-movement, heart rate, and respiration- responses to differing medium, messages, and online treatments.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education and a master’s degree in educational administration from Texas Tech University, and a doctorate in agricultural education from Ohio State University.
Dr. Baker brings a wealth of experience in administrative leadership and research that will benefit not only the department, but our college as a whole. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Baker to Texas A&M.
Thank you,
