Sent on behalf of Dr. Cliff Lamb, director of Texas A&M AgriLife Research
Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to welcome two faculty members into leadership roles at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Centers at Lubbock and Weslaco.
Dr. Jane Dever has been named associate director of the center in Lubbock, and Dr. John Jifon has been named interim center director of the center in Weslaco. Both began their new roles July 1.
Dr. Dever, a professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences since 2008, will continue as the cotton breeding project leader at Lubbock while assuming the associate director position.
Dr. Jifon, a professor in the Department of Horticultural Sciences since 2002, will continue leading crop physiology research at Weslaco in addition to the interim director role. He steps into the role following Dr. Juan Landivar, who has served concurrently as director of the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension centers at Corpus Christi and Weslaco.
I extend a special thank you to Dr. Landivar for his years of service in Weslaco. We look forward to our continued work together in Corpus Christi.
I invite you all to read more about our new leaders’ respective careers at AgriLife Today.
Gig ’em,
G. Cliff Lamb
Director, Texas A&M AgriLife Research
